Vamanrao Deo lives with his wife Savitriand works as an accountant he has two children Sunil whose completing education in Pune and Malati who works in the village the families condition isn't that good and Vamanrao waits fro day when Sunil will complete his education and starts working.Malati gets a marriage proposal but has to pay dowry Vamanrao and Savitri decide to sell their land and stop Sunil further education but Vamanrao's ailing sister Vitha asks him to marry Malati to her son Balkrishna.Sunil is distracted by his roommate and shifts to a new rented place owned by professor Devbakth and manages to complete his education in merit,Devbakth proposes Sunil to marry his daughter Shardha on wedding day Sunil's family is insulted by Shardha but Vamanrao handles it.Sunil starts working and gets promotion but Shardha whose of modern thinking always insults her in laws and wants Sunil to live according to her further Savitri passes away due to illness and Vamanrao goes missing while Malati and Sunil have lost communication leaving Sunil all alone.
